![]() Kristian Digby24th June 1977 – 1st March 2010The tragic death of Kristian Digby has deeply affected many fans and friends. Away from his career, Kristian devoted much of his free time to charity work. Because of this, Kristian’s family has asked those wishing to show their respects to make donations to the Albert Kennedy Trust and the Terrence Higgins Trust - the two charities he passionately cared for - instead of sending floral tributes. Tim Sigsworth, chief executive of the Albert Kennedy Trust, said: ‘The young people cared for by the Trust were very close to Kristian’s heart. The money donated in honour of his memory will go towards the newly named ‘Kristian Digby Young Person of the Year Award’ which will be given out at the Albert Awards in London and Manchester. Donations will also directly improve the lives and life chances of young LGBT people who are facing homelessness after rejection by their families’. All of us at the Albert Kennedy Trust were saddened to hear the news that our patron Kristian Digby had died. Kristian was an incredible supporter of our work and had genuine empathy for our young people and the work we do. It is thanks to Kristian’s talent as a performer that we were able to raise much needed funds at our events where he played the role of both ambassador and auctioneer. At our last fundraiser hosted by Simmons & Simmons & InterLaw, we remember Kristian talking to as many people as possible about our work and thanking them for attending. This was the Kristian we knew and loved: always passionate and supportive of AKT. He will be missed by all at AKT and our thoughts and sympathy goes out to his friends and family.
