It’s been an incredible six months for AKT as we entered our anniversary year: yes, we are extending our celebrations for a full year (July 09- June 10) because we are that fabulous! Amongst some of our highlights have been: Mary Booth (Albert’s Mother) coming back to support the Trust and marching with our young people at Manchester Pride after an absence of many years; seeing the 20th anniversary exhibition created by our young people, staff and volunteers proudly displayed and then receiving a call 20 minutes later from a scared young man in much need, who knew nothing about us until he spotted the exhibition.

AKT Launches Quality Mark for mainstream Housing & Homelessness servicesIn response to the findings of AKT’s research report which examined practice within housing and homelessness organisations across the United Kingdom; AKT have developed a unique and nationally significant scheme comprising a Quality Assurance Mark ‘Making a Difference’. It is intended to offer a model of best practice and its development and implementation is promoted by the Youth Homelessness Scheme Department of Communities & Local Government. Participating organizations that have proved themselves to be gay affirmative in there polices and actions will be awarded the M
