akt’s 2024 pride roundup

akt is proud to have attended both London Pride, Manchester Pride and London Trans Pride so far this year!

Pride protests and marches play a crucial role in celebrating acceptance and equality, recognising the work of LGBTQ+ people, LGBTQ+ history, and raising awareness about issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.

At akt, we understand the importance of showing our support at these pride protests. It’s events like these which give us the opportunity to connect with members of the LGBTQ+ community, spread the word and raise awareness about the work akt does, as well as reach people who may be in need of akt’s vital support services.

Here’s a roundup of the pride events we have attended so far:

London Pride | 29th of June 2024

Attending London Pride was such a special day, and we want to thank everyone that marched with us, from our staff, to volunteers, to influencers, to corporate partners, to everyone that came down on the day to support us.

Our thanks goes out to our corporate partners including,  Estella Bartlett, Flying Tiger, Morrisons, Pho, The Pret Foundation, Blackstone Foundation, and CityFibre  marching with us spreading our message of safe homes for LGBTQ+ youth.

London Trans+ Pride | July 27th

We had an incredible time at London Trans Pride. We’re so happy that we could march to help celebrate the amazing and resilient trans+ community. London Trans pride saw a turn out of around 60,000 people this year, with many regarding it as one of the largest Trans+ marches in the world.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and joined us in raising awareness for trans youth experiencing homelessness!

Manchester Pride | August 24th

We had an amazing time at Manchester Pride this year! We want to give a massive thank you to all the fantastic volunteers, staff, supporters, and people who marched with us, for making the day a spectacular success. Our team had such a lovely time, and we hope everyone else attending did as well!
